6 things that hinder the manifestation of God's power in our lives by Tarey Denise

1. OUR MIND

take your thoughts captive
Romans 12:2 tells us to renew our minds because we are born into this world with a carnal mind. We have been attempting to understand the things of God with our knowledge, therefore, we miss the mark. Renewing our minds means that we are learning to think like God and getting rid of our sinful, negative attitudes. Then the transformation and renewal can begin. Knowledge is Power.

2. Our confession

The Way we Talk
Phil 1:27 "Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ..." Are the words that come out of our mouths conducive to the word of God? We must speak those things that align with God's word for our lives. There is no place for idle talk. The word states that we can have what we say. Let's speak on purpose. What are you speaking over your own life?

3. Our Walk

The way we carry ourselves
Psalm 84:11 Are we walking uprightly? This scripture tells us that the Lord will give us favor and honor and He won't hold one good thing from us if we do so. God also says that He is a sun and shield for us. As our sun, He lights our path and orders our steps. As our shield, He is our protector. Furthermore, If we live in the Spirit, we will walk in the Spirit and not fulfill the lusts of the flesh therefore empowering us with the power of God.

4. Our Heart

the condition of our heart
Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." If our hearts are wicked we will have a problem seeing God. Many of us have hidden motives, bitterness and anger in our hearts. If any of this is present in our hearts, we do not love God with our whole heart, and we are in sin. Hence, we cannot experience the fullness of His power.

5. Procrastination

it's now or never
Joshua 24:15 In spite of this world being fast paced, many of us don't have a sense of urgency about doing the things that God has called us to do."Choose this day whom you will serve..." God has already given us the power and authority to do things. It's time that we get beyond just believing that we can do it and just do it.

6 Our Identity

we don't know who we are
Lastly, we must remember that we were created to be unusual, uncommon and unique. God made us to be set apart and different. Instead of trying to fit in, God desires that we step into who He ordained us to be. It's time that we declare and speak with boldness that we are the righteousness of Christ. There's power in knowing who we are.
  • If we are allowing God to lead and direct us, He is already present with us. He's hoping that we show up. He is leading us to Him. When we go where He is, there we will partake in the manifestation of His power and glory.

I hope this was a blessing to you!
