Supporting Friends of Fady An Indiana muslim pac

Welcome! By visiting this page, you are taking the first step in supporting Dr. Fady Qaddoura's political campaign . Here, you will learn about him and his campaign priorities and the different ways to get involved and take action. But first, let us tell you a little bit about the PAC.

Indiana Muslim Advocacy Network (IMAN Associates) was established in 2017 to provide an educated, organized and amplified political voice for Indiana Muslims, advocating on their behalf for positive civic and political changes in the state of Indiana. To learn more about the organization, visit our website.

Given that electing a Muslim candidate aligns with the strategic goals of the organization, IMAN Associates formed a Political Action Committee (PAC) for the purpose of raising money to elect Dr. Fady Qaddoura to represent Indiana State Senate District 30.

His Story:

Dr. Fady Qaddoura was raised by a hard working family with low-income , worked extremely hard since middle school (in construction, gas stations, book stores, tutoring, etc.), paid for his college education, survived homelessness after Hurricane Katrina, and built a career in public service. His story is the story of the American Dream: the promise that hard work and playing by the rules is the path to prosperity.

He currently serves as the Chief financial Officer and Controller at City of Indianapolis, and one of Mayor Joe Hogsett's top cabinet members. Since his appointment in 2016, he was able to fix the City’s budget deficits, which averaged $55 million per year since 2010. He balanced the City’s annual budget of $1.2 billion, helped the City receive four credit upgrades from four national credit rating agencies (Moody’s, S&P, Fitch, and Kroll), and smart-sized City government to save tax payers over $70 million over 3 years.

Being fiscally responsible and hard working, he was recognized by IBJ 40 Under 40 Class of 2018, as IBJ 2018 CFO of the Year, and received AIM Award for Excellence in Fiscal Management.

Dr. Fady Qaddoura's Political Priorities:

Teacher pay and investments in public education is one of my top priorities. The only way that Indiana can compete nationally for jobs and businesses is by making critical and responsible investments in Pre-K, K-12, 2 and 4 year colleges, and teacher raises.

Elected officials are entrusted by those who elected them to be good stewards of tax payer dollars. Decisions that are made at the state level impact all Hoosiers. Unfunded and underfunded state mandates cause prevent counties, cities, and towns from serving their citizens to the best of their abilities.

Indiana is confronted with many public health and safety challenges: violent crimes, hate crimes, gun violence, school shootings, the opioid crisis, high infant mortality rates, chronic illnesses, limited access to mental health, and restrictions on access to reproductive health. Every life we lose is one too many!

In order for Indiana to attract jobs and businesses, we must prepare Hoosiers for the 21st Century economy and give Hoosiers the incentive to live, work, and raise families in Indiana. Social issues such as poverty, unemployment, homelessness, hunger, poor health, lack of access to mental health services, among other issues, hold Indiana back from reaching its full potential as an economic engine.

Fairness & Opportunity

Equality: All humans were created equal regardless of their religion, sex, gender orientation, political views, ethnicity, race, nationality. Indiana must welcome and embrace everyone. When we dignify people and treat them with respect, our economy improves, our neighborhoods become safer, our children grow up to be caring, and our future becomes brighter.

Criminal Justice Reform: The Current model of Criminal Justice System is not working. The system is too costly and over burdened. Unfortunately, jails in Indiana are becoming the largest mental health institutions in the state. Mental health and chemical dependency are health issues that should be treated by health care professionals at health care facilities.
