What is Graphic Design?
Graphic design, also known as communication design, is the art and practice of planning and projecting ideas and experiences with visual and textual content. The form of the communication can be physical or virtual, and may include images, words, or graphic forms.
Why does this matter?
Pair Fonts
Two for Two! 1. Keep font use down to two different ones. Any more would be uncivilized! Not really, I just wanted to say that. 2. Pair up fonts that are complimentary to each other.
Two Colors
Keep the use of colors on a screen to two colors. Also use colors that compliment each other.
White Space
White space is often referred to as negative space. It is the portion of a page left unmarked: margins, gutters, and space between columns, lines of type, graphics, figures, or objects drawn or depicted.
Alignment
Too the left, to the left, to the right, to the right, to the center, to the center! (Think Cupid Shuffle)
Consistency
Keep things things consistent helps maintain brand, helps retain informations, and focuses on the content.
