Return to School Plan
Recognizing the integral part that schools play for our students, staff and families, Orland School District 135 is committed to providing full-day in-person learning to our students for the 2021-2022 school year. Throughout our planning for the new school year, we kept in-person learning in a safe environment for students and staff our primary goal. Reflecting on our experiences and referencing information and guidance provided by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Illinois School Board of Education (ISBE), and the Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH), we designed a plan with a focus of meeting the needs of our families and staff. As information, guidance and data changes, components of the plan will adjust accordingly. It is our hope that through ongoing monitoring, we will be able to maximize the amount of time students are in school as well as provide our community with as much advance notice as possible when necessary changes are needed. For more information regarding the mitigations in place, please view the 2021-22 Start of School Plan.
All families must register and verify residency for the 2021-2022 school year. If you have not registered or completed proof of residency, your child will not receive a teacher assignment. If you have any questions regarding this process, please reach out to your child's school they will attend in the fall.

STARS (Before & After School Care) Program
STARS is a high quality, district-sponsored program designed to provide safe, structured and nurturing before and after school care for K-8 students attending Orland 135 schools. The philosophy of STARS is for students to remain with their peers before and after school while having access to resources that reinforce learning from the school day, build valuable social skills and promote activity through a series of planned recreation and free play. Learn more about STARS and register your child on the District website. The STARS Program is also hiring Program assistants. Apply to work with the STARS Program!
