Week Thirteen//MVP//Kam Chancellor

Kam Chancellor partnered with Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission to host his fifth annual Holiday Toy Drive. The event served 800 toys and counting for children in need within the Seattle community and surrounding areas.

This toy drive hosted by the Seahawks Pro Bowl safety is unique in that the Seattle Union Gospel Mission stores the donated toys in a local warehouse where parents are invited to shop for their children.

The Kam Cares Foundation seeks to equip children from underserved communities in the Hampton Roads and Seattle areas with educational, health and wellness tools and resources to position them for greater academic success. Other outreach efforts include a back-to-school drive, a football skills camp and partnerships with Norfolk Public Schools in his home state of Virginia.

“This toy drive is just one way I’m able to provide underserved children and families with a little hope and a few resources to lessen the burdens they face,” Chancellor said. “I’m thankful to be named the NFLPA Community MVP and I’m humbled that they are recognizing the work that I’ve simply been called to do.”
