Ralph Gallegos presented several views of the new $5 million gymnasium that will be built at Chaparral High School. The project will be the last major project funded through the recent bond funds approved by voters.

Associate Superintendent Susie Yturralde, left, congratulated Grace Marquez, principal, Gadsden Elementary, Jorge Araujo, principal, Desert View Elementary, and Linda Perez, Anthony Elementary who were recognized as honored schools with Bilingual Multi-cultural Education programs that meet or exceed PED statutory requirements. These schools were honored at the New Mexico Bilingual Day at the Legislature.
Winners of the recently held District English Spelling Bee held at Santa Teresa Elementary were honored by Superintendent Efren Yturralde and the GISD Board.
