Dillon Barnat

Student Spotlight

Hometown: Bixby, OK - Major: Civil Engineering, Senior

Dillon has been volunteering his time at the Life Adult Day Center for about two years. When asked why he chose to volunteer, Dillon said, "I just wanted to give back and they are good, friendly people." He touches the lives of many through simple things like chatting with the residents. His advice to future volunteers is, "Just do it."

Life Adult Day Center - The Life Center is a day program for adults with health issues that offers social, recreation, and therapeutic activities. Participants enroll in the program and attend on their own schedule, providing a safe environment for them to be active in the community, maintain their current physical, social, and cognitive skills, make friends, and have a fully trained staff of health care professionals to assist with healthcare needs throughout the day. Caregivers can work, shop, see friends, participate in their own clubs, or just get a break without worrying that their family member is safe while they are out.

CORD Applications are due to SLVC on Friday, April 21 at 5pm. Applications can be found here:
