"God is HERE"
Time is one of the most valuable and precious things in life. Earlier this year, some of our students went to summer camp at Crosslands. The theme was “ Dare to Be”, where they learnt and experienced a vision of a life to live according to God’s identity and purpose for each one of them. In our natural world, everyone one of us go through different stages of life and I want to share with you a moment of vision from one of the students’ experience and encounter with God at summer camp.
Me: Tell me where you’re at?
Friend: Last year was a tough year for me.
Me: Sorry to hear.
Friend: It’s ok, but things changed at summer camp where I experienced God personally.
Me: Wow, tell me more.
Friend: God loves me. He loves me. He accepts me and has a purpose for me. And I met some awesome people there and made some new friends too.
Me: 😊 😉 bless your heart...
I am not sure about you, but for me this is gold. This is one of many most precious stories I hear and celebrate. It deals with real life and it’s real talk. It’s got substance and I know we all can relate to it in some aspect. At times, God interrupts your schedule to create a new shift in your life. I pray that if possible to make time to send God a message. But don’t stress, God is always here. He loves you. He is faithful.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble therefore we will not fear"Psalm 46:1

In particular, some of the highlights also include, watching the seal show, the bird show and going on a safari Trek to see the Sumatra tigers. Students tried to capture the animals in motion using different photographic skills and perspectives.

It's hard to believe we are already in Week 4 of Term 1. For those who have started Prep and Kindy we hope that you have settled into school life and have been having loads of fun.
For those who have started Year 7 – it’s a bit of an adjustment period as you transition into a different structure of learning. I came across this link posted by Maggie Dent who is an Australian parenting author, educator and speaker. She posted a link called “tips for year 7 newbies from older high school kids”. It’s a good read for those who have started year 7. https://mumlyfe.com.au/tips-for-year-7-from-older-kids/

Valentine’s Day provided the WAS Canteen with a fun opportunity to spread some extra love throughout our school community. Students enjoyed being served their delicious, heart shaped Valentines Day cookies by our friendly team dressed in red.
Special promotions and treats are offered at different times throughout the year, often in conjunction with calendar events and sometimes just because! Students can discover more about this via Flexischools under ‘Limited Edition Items’ and also displayed on posters throughout the school.
Students are encouraged to come and visit us anytime to learn more about our menu options, nutrition and upcoming specials. Suggestions are also welcome as we desire to provide our school community with fresh, healthy food that is in line with recipe favourites!
The WAS Canteen would love your help throughout the year if you have some spare time and a desire to become more involved in the life of our school. No previous food handling skills are required, simply a servant heart and willingness to learn. Please visit us at the canteen any time to express your interest.
