Children in Worship
We strongly encourage older children, first grade and up, to stay and worship with their family during the service. This is an awesome way to help them grow their faith and a great time for parents to share their faith with them!
Our children are included in our worship services. They may be called upon to wave palm branches on Palm Sunday. They may carry ornaments and greenery for the Christmas Service. Upon entering 3rd grade children can sign up to become acolytes for our traditional service. From time to time children in the 4th and 5th grades may be asked to help with offering. At Broadway we believe children are the church now!
Each Sunday at the 10:00 AM and the 11:15 AM Services, children have a special time allotted specifically for them to come down for Children's Moments. This gives them a chance to hear part of the service at their own level, and to start building their own faith and church traditions.
Young children are welcome to stay in worship the whole time or they can stay through the Children's Moments time in the service and then go downstairs (#2 stop on the elevator) to the nursery. A nursery worker will help direct children downstairs, but if it is your first time you will be asked to follow and give contact information for the child.
Two nurseries are available for parents of young children during all services, 8:30, 10:00 and 11:15, plus during the 9:00 Sunday School hour. A baby nursery (room 202) and an older nursery 18 months to 5 years (room 204). In the older nursery a small Bible story is shared each week along with an activity sheet.
Activity bags, stickers, worship notebooks and picture books are located in the back of the church to help children sit through the service.
