Mr. Skip Rodenburg Math teacher / risk innovator

Successes come from discoveries and discoveries come from taking risks. Lorca is a place where students are encouraged to take risks. This is my eleventh year teaching in CPS and eighth year at Lorca. Our school is dynamic and trendsetting. I'm proud to be a part of Lorca. I have served as the Math Department head, the boys football coach, boys softball coach, and boys volleyball coach. I live in the Bucktown Neighborhood with my wife and three kids Morgan 8, Van 6 and Dane 4. I grew up in Thornton, IL and graduated from Thornwood High School. I then attended Illinois State University and eventually graduated from DePaul University with a degree in Finance. I worked as a business banker for 10 years and lived in California for about half that time. Ultimately, I loved Chicago and education too much and moved home. I earned my Masters in Education from Dominican University. My favorite hobbies are surfing, snowboarding, golfing, and riding bikes with my family.
