The great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is about a man full of hope and reveals what love can do to a person. one evident example is Gatsby's hopes for a future with daisy.

It eluded us then, but that's no matter — tomorrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther . . . . symbolism in The great Gatsby - the green light: THE GREEN LIGHT SYMBOLIZES GATSBY'S HOPES AND DREAMS FOR A FUTURE WITH DAISY. IT ALSO REPRESENTS THE DISTANCE BETWEEN HIM AND DAISY. "And as I sat there brooding on the old, unknown world, I thought of Gatsby's wonder when he first picked out the green light at the end of Daisy's dock. He had come a long way to this blue lawn, and his dream must have seemed so close that he could hardly fail to grasp"
