PROJECT OVERVIEW: The proposed project, the Rubavu Balneotherapy Hub aims to enhance and affirm the touristic image of Gisenyi city in Rubavu District, Rwanda, promoting the culture and practice of hydrotherapy baths and safeguarding the natural landscape of the region. This hub will create approximately 150 permanent jobs and 750 jobs through construction phases. The local population will be involved in the project as employees of the hub. Others could develop their own business pursuits around the project, and even more citizens will enjoy the advantages of new infrastructure such as public spaces and educational facilities. The hope is that this project will increase income and facilitate community integration as the country continues on its path towards rapid socio-economic growth.
