Brothers In Arms The Transit Valley Country Club hosts “O’Rgan Run” benefiting kidney transplant patients and honoring superintendents Brian Conn and Scott Dodson, featured on the cover of GCI's February issue.

Buffalo-area superintendents Brian Conn and Scott Dodson and their families participated in the first annual “O’Rgan Run” March 17 at Transit Valley Country Club. The run coincided with the club’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration and proceeds benefitted University of Rochester Medical Center transplant patients.

Conn, the superintendent at Transit Valley, donated his left kidney to Dodson, Park Country Club’s longtime superintendent, during a procedure at URMC on Jan. 9. Dodson was suffering from kidney disease at the time of the surgery.

Multiple representatives from URMC attended the fundraiser, including Dr. Randeep Kashyap and Dr. Roberto Alejandro-Hernandez. Kashyap operated on Conn, while Alejandro-Hernandez is URMC’s chief of solid organ transplant surgery.

Conn and Dodson were featured on GCI’s February cover. Transit Valley general manager Mike Reilly presented the pair with plaques of the story before the run.
