About Ms. Broda Sixth Grade teacher

My family

My dad, my mom, and me!

This is a picture of my family and me. I have one brother who is 18 and he's just about to start his first year at University of Michigan. I have four grandparents, a bunch of aunts and uncles and sixteen cousins!

My College Days

I graduated from Knox College in June! Our teams are called the Prairie Fire, but our mascot is Blaze the Fox. It's pretty silly!
Knox College is located in Galesburg, Illinois. It is about three hours West of Chicago - right by Iowa!
When I was in college, my favorite extra curricular activity I was a part of was Blessings in a Backpack. We packed backpacks full of food for children who didn't have enough food to eat on the weekends. Every year we have to raise at least $38,000 through fundraising to make sure we can feed all of the kids in need!

These are a few of my favorite things

What I Did This Summer: Part 1

Five of my classmates, my professor, and myself traveled to the Navajo Reservation to spend a couple weeks teaching at the STAR School. It was located just outside of Flagstaff, Arizona. I spent most of my time there in a Middle School Science classroom!
On the weekends we got to visit really beautiful places including the Grand Canyon and the Petrified Forest!

What I Did This Summer: Part 2

I love music and concerts so I try to go to as many as I possibly can. This summer I was lucky enough to see Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers (another band from the 1970s!) at Wrigley Field.
On a family vacation to London, we were also able to see the a U2 concert and a Stevie Nicks concert. She is my favorite singer ever! She is the lead singer of my favorite band, Fleetwood Mac.

I'm super excited to get to know all about you and SVF!
