How is the Epiphany Celebrated in Other Countries? DEREK Atwaters - 1/13/17

In Spain, the Epiphany is celebrated on January 6th, & it is also known as "Three Kings Day", "Three Wise Men Day", or "Día de los Reyes".
Most people in Spain go to a mass at midnight which is called 'La Misa Del Gallo' (The Mass of the Rooster).
After the midnight service, people walk through the streets carrying torches, playing guitars and beating on tambourines and drums.
Three people dressed as the Three Wise Men or the Three Kings go around and hand out gifts to the children.
Christmas is still celebrated in Spain, but the Epiphany is celebrated in addition.
The Three Kings come from the Gospel of Matthew when Three Wise Men/Three Kings brought gifts to baby Jesus.
