When I first arrived at Pacific University as a Freshman eager to learn and pursue my passions and goals
I am from Vancouver Washington, and I am currently a film major at Pacific University. My pacific University email is firstname.lastname@example.org and my student id is 1088936.
Me operating and filming a scene on the set of "Supper"
Being a film major at Pacific I have gotten pretty familiar with Pacific's Canon 100 film cameras, and have learned how to operate and film with them. I own my own little Canon rebel camera as well and I just got back from taking the winter photography class in Hawaii. During that class, I learned and obtained new shooting skills that I can take with me in my future photographs and films. I have been interested in film and photography since middle school, and I was born with an eye for seeing neat and unique images to shoot.
A photograph I took playing around with dramatic lighting
I do enjoy writing and writing is one of the very most important steps and skills one must know in order to film a movie. I have written scripts for numerous projects and I have written critical essays analyzing certain films themes and storylines. I believe there are other ways to tell a story other than just through the use of words. Specific lighting and careful production design can do a lot to tell a story in a particular film. As a cinematographer I have learned how to tell a story through either dramatic lighting or soft subtle warm tones of colors. There are multiple other ways to tell a story in film and photography that don't use words at all.
My crew and I discussing logistics for the next scene to shoot
My expectations and goals for this class include advancing my computer tech skills and also finding multiple new ways of creating fine and intriguing art through the digital age.
