A New National Headquarters

As an organization, the League of American Orchestras strives to advance the experience of orchestral music by supporting the people and organizations that create it and championing the contributions orchestras make to the health and vibrancy of our communities. Our diverse membership is made up of more than 2,000 organizations and individuals across North America.

To strengthen our service to members, the League is establishing a new headquarters in the heart of New York City’s Garment District.

The space is being designed with our members in mind – improved video conferencing and digital learning capabilities, collaborative work spaces, and reduced occupancy costs which translate to increased services and benefits for members.

We are excited to see how the renderings, included here, come to life in our new space, once construction starts this summer.

With rents steadily increasing at the League's current location on West 60th Street in the Columbus Circle neighborhood, the move will reduce occupancy costs by about $250,000 annually.

"By lowering our occupancy cost we can better serve orchestras. We are very excited by the possibilities offered with this change of address." - Jesse Rosen, president and CEO, League of American Orchestras

The new location is also home to many notable arts organizations including the Theater Communications Group, the National Guild for Community Arts Education, and the Theater Development Fund. It is also steps away from Penn Station, the major transportation hub.

The establishment of a new national headquarters is the cornerstone of a major $1.8 million investment in member service including a new website, digital learning capacity, and an information technology ecosystem.

"I’m really excited about the League’s move to its new headquarters. I think it’s going to significantly improve the League’s ability to provide incredible service to its membership and to the field." – Steve Parrish, vice chair, League of American Orchestras

Of course, even a cost-saving move has its costs, which is why we hope you will make a gift on League Giving Day.

We look forward to welcoming you to our new headquarters and we hope that you will consider it your orchestra's home away from home.
