Tattoos on the Heart Reflections By Blake anderson

Father Greg

My favorite story in preface was when Gregory was describing his life in how he was raised in the gang capital of the world . He had wonderful parents and a total of 7 siblings. He said it was hard to find a gang where he lived. This means that he did not grow up in the rough parts of L.A. I think the message of this chapter is that all members, gangs and nongangs are just trying to learn how to love.

God I guess

My favorite story from this chapter is the story about a guy named Bill. Bill would read his father bed time stories and put him to sleep even though his father should be the one doing that. The message from this chapter is to do what is right and to show love. I think that is the theme of this story because even though he was the child putting his father to sleep, when that is normally the father's job, Bill showed love and compassion to his father.

My favorite story that means a lot to me is the story of Lefty going up to his dad who was watching football and tells him that if he ever hits mom again he will shoot him. I love this story because he was protecting his mom from his dad because he loves her. The main theme of this chapter is protection. This means a lot because moms will do anything to protect their children and Lefty wanted to do the same thing for his mom by standing up against his dad. This was a very brave act by Lefty to stick up for her like this.
