Isaiah 6:1-9 NIV - In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy , holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” He said, “Go and tell this people...."

What can we learn about the fear of the Lord?
Romans 8:5 - Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
Romans 12:2 - Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Fear of the Lord in our Calling
Matthew 28:18-20 - We have all been given a calling to make disciples. Our calling in life is not to make friends. Will you have the fear of the Lord on your life and speak out?
Do you give yourself to all parts of your calling? How about the parts of your calling that you are less enthusiastic about? Do you give 100% in all aspects of your calling?
Applying the Fear of the Lord
1. Commit yourself to intimate friendship with God ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE.
2. Repent of any sin God convicts you of.
3. Confess your lack of hatred for sin and cry out for God's mercy. Ask for more.
4. Cry out for the fear of the Lord in a particular area of sin in your life.
5. Apply your heart to understanding. Let God's Word wash over you and fill you. His Word (boundaries) will keep you safe.
