Preserving the Traditional Classroom Purpose the benefit of logging cell phone use

The classroom is a place where...

teachers are role models...

and classmates are examples.

The classroom is an engaging place...

where students share their ideas and beliefs with one another.

But cell phones distract students from each other and the teacher.

There is a solution and it includes UNIV 101 teachers.

UNIV 101 teachers should offer extra credit to students who log their cell phone usage.

Students become more aware of how much time they are wasting on their phones when they take the time to log their phone usage.

They put their phones down and start engaging with their class.

The classroom once again becomes an engaged place where students learn about one another and look up to their teacher.
