Abstract: COVID-19 has altered the way students attend school and has forced the majority of students to participate in distance learning. That transition has impacted student’s performance and has exposed inequality amongst students. This project serves as a qualitative and quantitative analysis of national, state, and local data related to student achievement over the last year during the pandemic. To collect local data, an online survey was conducted and was provided to high school students from three different high schools in Oxnard California and students who attend California State Channel Islands University. The survey consisted of questions addressing their study habits, sleeping patterns, and other factors that may influence a student's academic performance. Students were also asked to evaluate their teacher’s performance and work content. This survey was meant to gage the local student’s impressions about online learning and experience.
