Workshop Overview
This program will be a series consisting of five workshops designed to teach members to develop and successfully implement a basic quality control program at their brewery. Each workshop will be taught by Dr. Lucille Benedict, the Director of the Quality Control Collaboratory, and an associate professor of chemistry at USM.
Essential Topics for Developing a Quality Control Program
This workshop series will cover the most important topics for developing and implementing a quality control program at your brewery. These include: writing a quality control plan, yeast counting and viability, aseptic technique required in a lab and during sample collection, becoming familiar with beer spoilage organisms and the medium used for their detection, record keeping and more.
Connect with Professionals
The workshop series also offers members a chance to network with other members of the local brewing industry, as well as the Quality Control Collaboratory members. These connections can help you during the process of implementing a basic Quality Control program at your brewery!
Program Cost
The program will be provided for a tuition of $900, which also includes some basic equipment required for establishing a lab within the brewery. This cost is for one participant of a brewery, but additional participants can be registered as well.
