Natchez Trace Parkway Jackson Falls

Any time we visit the Nashville area, our favorite area to visit is Franklin. We arrived Friday afternoon and our first stop, 55 South in downtown Franklin is a favorite place for lunch before heading south to the Natchez Trace Parkway.

We were hoping that the fall foliage would be in full color, but we were probably a week or so late as a number of the trees around Nashville have already lost their leaves. We got quite a late start on the Natchez Trace Parkway and had only an hour and a half of daylight. Knowing the sunlight was limited, I decided we would drive south only to Jackson Falls. I was hoping to take the trail the 900 feet down to the falls from the parking area and be back on our way to Franklin before sunset. I was hoping that water would be flowing once I got there. Two years ago when I visited the falls, there was almost no water flowing. There was definitely more water flowing this year as you can see from the photos below.

One final photo on the drive back to Franklin just before sunset.
