  • March 1st through March 30th- Student Art Show on display at the Crystal River Mall. The Citrus County Art Teachers will display student art pieces which were created in our classrooms throughout the mall. A variety of projects will be display and will include both 2-D and 3-D pieces. Drawings, paintings, collage, and many design projects from all grade levels will be on view. Come on out and check out the student art on display!

Five Points of Life Kids Marathon Citrus

The Five Points of Life and LifeSouth Community Blood Centers are excited to invite you to the 9th annual Five Points of Life Kids Marathon Citrus. It will be held Friday, March 1, 2018 at the Lecanto High School track, 3810 W. Educational Path, Lecanto, FL 34461.

To participate kids, kindergarten through eighth grade, complete 25 miles (done during PE if student is in PE), one at a time, during the months prior to the marathon. To finish the full marathon kids will run the last 1.2 miles on March 2, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Lecanto High School track. All participants will receive a Kids Marathon Citrus race packet, race number (must be worn on race day), and t-shirt with their packets. On race day, those finishing the 1.2 miles will receive a finishers medal. Kids must register in order to participate.

Only one parent or guardian will be permitted to accompany each participant on the 1.2 mile run. Other family members and friends are encouraged to attend and cheer on the participants during the run from the stands. Parents should not register to run. Only the kids will need to register in order to receive a t-shirt, race bib, and finisher’s medal.

There will be no race day registration on event day.

Soaring Falcon students are chosen monthly by the grade level teachers to be recognized for their consistent outstanding school performance and attitude.

SAEC Meetings

All parents are invited to attend the School Advisory Enhancement Council Meetings. SAEC meetings will be held on the following dates at 3:00 pm in the Media Center:

Chess Club

Those who have signed permission slips will meet every first and third Mondays from 2:30-3:30 in the Media Center. Permission slips are available in media. See Deputy Hunter with questions.

S.T.E.A.M. Club

S.T.E.A.M. Club (Science Technology Engineering Art & Math) runs every Tuesday in room Ms. Markey's room from 2:30-4:00. See your science teacher for a permission slip.

Title 1 Parent Communication

In accordance with the Title I regulations, a copy of the School-Wide Title I Parent Involvement Plan and the School Improvement Plan are available for review in the school office or on our school website via the link below. If you wish to request information concerning the professional qualifications of any of your child’s instructors, you may do so in writing to the principal.

Title 1, Part A (Title 1) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended (ESEA) provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. Renaissance and all elementary and middle schools in Citrus County are Title 1 schools. YMCA After-School Program

The Citrus County YMCA will be running the After School Program at Citrus Springs Middle School. Cost is $35 per week and financial assistance is available to those who qualify. This program is held on site between the hours of 2:30pm and 6:00pm. Staff will assist the students with homework, engage them in teambuilding projects and will also focus on character development. A.V.I.D.

AVID is a college and career readiness program-Advancement Via Individual Determination. AVID Dress up days are held on the second Tuesday of each month.

F.C.A

FCA-Fellowship of Christian Athletes-ALL are welcome! Meetings are held the first and third Thursdays of the month @7:30 AM in the gym.

S.W.A.T.

SWAT will meet every second Thursday of the month before school (7:20 am) and during A lunch .
