2000 Vintage

200 was a mythical year. An exceptional, even grandiose vintage that wine aficionados and collectors have been raving about for years. Ideal temperatures have lead to the production of distinctive wines with exceptional pedigree. Outstanding structure and elegance for these age-worthy wines.

Château Pontet-Canet, Pauillac, 2000

A Grand Cru Classé well-known in Quebec with a rich steady colour. The intense nose is marked by notes of cedar and vanilla which balance perfectly, a powerful and clean fruitiness. The palate is characterized by tannins of great distinction; carried by a beautiful freshness to its elegant finale. A great success, for this outstanding vintage year. 94 Points James Suckling | 92 Points Wine Enthusiast | 92 Points Wine Spectator

Château Brane-Cantenac 2000

Bravo to Henri Lurton for producing one of the greatest in Margaux. Inky dark garnet in colour, with youthful purple highlights. The nose is slightly muted at first, with a dominance of black fruits (black cherry, blackberry) underscored by well-integrated oaked nuances. Upon aeration, the full aromatic potential develops, revealing a highly complex wine. Notes of cassis, stewed red fruits, leather, and floral hints indicate excellent grape ripeness levels at harvest. The palate is incredibly rich and round right from the attack. The tannins are powerful, yet ripe and velvety smooth, and the finish is impressively long and multi-layered. Already superb, but with an ageing potential up to at least 2022-2023. 93 Points Wine Associate | 92 Points James Suckling | 91 Points Wine Spectator | 90 Points Wine Enthusiast

Château Lafon-Rochet, Saint-Estèphe, 2000

A particularly successful vintage that offers a complex nose which, although still quite restrained, has clear potential. In the mouth, the wine is superbly balanced, silky and warm, with a lingering, elegant finish. Both modern and classic, the 2000 vintage perfectly represents the essence of Lafon-Rochet.

Château Giscours Margaux

750 ml | Case of 2

2005

The bouquet offers very fine intensity with blackberry and cedar, here a tinge of cassis that becomes accentuated with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, slightly grainy tannin. It is very well balanced and focused with a sustained, mineral-rich finish. This is an excellent Giscours that will age nicely over the next 20-25 years.

2010

The aromatics are very focused with black fruit, violets, fig and mineral scents that are very well defined. The palate delivers delineation and poise, freshness, an intensity that is supremely well focused and length in the mouth. There is even a dab of mint chocolate on the aftertaste.

2014

Very expressive wine composed of fruit aromas with red cherries, raspberry and blackcurrant laced with cedar and graphite. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, pure red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit with a precise finish. It is well balanced and shows a great ageing capacity.

2010 Vintage

The 2010 vintage is known to have produced great wines. An early and relatively fast flowering in early June, followed by a warm, sunny and dry July caused a slowdown and a stop in the growth of the vines at the beginning of the veraison. An ideal ripening thanks to the exceptionally dry and relatively warm months of August and September. This provided the wines a lot of freshness and balance, as well as an extraordinary ageing potential.

One of the greatest vintages for Château Gruaud-Larose

Château Gruaud Larose, Saint-Julien 2010

A legendary cru that has been part of the Commission des liqueurs de Québec's repertory since its' early beginnings in 1921. Brilliant garnet red in colour flecked through with purple hints. Highly complex on the nose with elegant nuances of exotic oak like sandalwood, giving way to aromas of vanilla, spice, coffee, and sweet peppers, and finally notes of candied cassis. While the oak remains quite prominent due to the wine’s young age, the palate is already quite generous and concentrated. Ripe fruits, dark chocolate, and mocha flavours abound. Powerful and richly textured, showing a lot of elegance and finesse. Excellent balance on the finish. 96 Points James Suckling | 93 Points Wine Spectator
