Horses and Ponies I like horses because they are very helpful because you can ride them.

History

Horses were tamed 6,ooo years ago. Horses come from the wild.

Diference Between Them

Horses and ponies are measured to the withers, or where the neck joins the back. They are measured in hands. A hand is four inches. Ponies are shorter than horses. A pony is 14.2 hands (57 inches) or less. Ponies' legs are shorter in proportion to their bodies than are horses' legs.

Horse Breed

There are three types of horses heavy horses, light horses, and ponies.

Pony Breeds

Ponies are more petite then horses.

Conditions

Horses and ponies can survivie in really wet and windy conditons.

Eating Grass

Horses are grazing animals, and their teeth are perfect for eating grass. The teeth should wear down evenly and slowly throughout the animals lifetime. You can tell roughly how old a horse or pony is by looking at the patters of wear on its teeth.

Fencing

Simple board fencing is the best.
