Module Delivery: One weekly two-hour workshop and one weekly webinar (online seminar)

Teaching approach: STUDENT-LED learning. See the below video on the flipped classsroom approach:

  • Filmed video lecture: Uploaded on blackboard one week before the scheduled session.
  • Video: subject content, activities for the workshop, discussion points
  • Workshop: completion of video activities, address queries and discussion points
  • Webinar: Case studies, further explanations and assessment advice

THE ASSESSMENTS

ASSESSMENT 1: THE GROUP EXHIBITION

  • National distinctiveness in HRM practices
  • Choose one country and one HRM practice: see module handbook
  • Week 6: 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions
  • Format: posters, videos, roleplay, 3D models, powerpoint (minimal use)
  • 1000 word summary and photos uploaded on turnitin (March 24th 2017, 4pm)

ASSESSMENT 2: THE INDIVIDUAL ESSAY

  • Globalisation and HRM: Convergence vs Divergence
  • 3000 words (+/-10%): see module handbook
  • Due May 5th 2017, 4pm: submit on turnitin and to the DCB reception desk
