New originals by Ford smith
In this neoteric series, Ford uses specialized, fluid acrylics, gravity and a light touch to create these grooving, moving effects among classic elements
It's easy to get lost in the details...
The gentle, held breath quality of this remarkable painting touches the heart and mind.
Your own seaside discovery, this place where your thoughts can wander and imagination soars. Ford’s moving, melting, tree boughs are like inspired ideas stirring, the passing sky of passionate reds bring clarity and focus. It’s a beautiful divergence of color and emotion. While vibrant elements excite the senses, the cool and quiet waves softly usher in a purposeful and rhythmic calm.

live and breathe
Ford's liquid atmosphere in this remarkable new painting is positively charged with life and movement.
The glowing, melting hues of the vivid sky are cooled with soft teal tones in a canopy of trees crackling with energy and peace. Spend time on the mesmerizing details after taking in the scene. You'll see something new to appreciate with every viewing.
Are you feeling it?
This new painting emerges from Ford’s studio with a radiant aura of good cheer and wonder. From the buoyant, sky-reaching red trees to incandescent streaks of bejeweled light, it’s classic Ford Smith, but with it’s own distinctive—and completely captivating—personality.
With a riotous patchwork of precision, Ford re-imagines nature with an other-worldly and mathematical edge.
Engaging a color spectrum of light traveling through a prism, he creates a sentry of 3-dimensional trees against a tumultuous, gray and bluesy sky jolted by racing light and shadows as the sun sets on distant mountains. The sharp geometry of the reflections and soft, randomness of the upper horizon makes this original painting a brilliant study in contrasts that merge together in vibrant perfection.
Fun Fact: Ford started college in 1968 with a full-ride scholarship in Mathematics, but switched his major to Fine Art after his freshman year and graduated with a BFA in Painting. You can identify these right brain/left brain capabilities in nearly every Ford Smith painting. The prized Hue Series is the most literal example of this.
