Mechanical Engineers By: Austin Christian

Mechanical engineers develop, improve, and test new designs of other engineers to make life a little easier for everyone. Mechanical engineers use physics, materials of science, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems.

Work Conditions

Mechanical engineers spend most of their works hours in an office. Obviously that means that it's inside, that would be pretty strange for the office to be outdoors. Anyways, mechanical engineers can spend time in a factory when manufacturing products.

Job Outlook

From 2014 to 2024 employment for mechanical engineers is expected to grow at least 5%, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Job prospects may be best for those who stay abreast of the most recent advances in technology.

EDUCATION: A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is needed in order to get hired for this job. All states and the District of Columbia require mechanical engineers who sell services to the public to be licensed.
