Conrad Weekly Memo December 2nd, 2020

Principal's Message

As we return from the holiday weekend, I would like to recognize our entire school community for their flexibility and understanding in adjusting to new schedules, routines, and procedures. We have communicated all cases where an in-person Conrad staff member or student has tested positive for COVID-19 and will continue to do so. It is important to note that we have been impacted by quarantine measures put in place by the Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH) but we also must understand that these quarantine measures are a crucial step in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Our Conrad community has done a fantastic job in reporting exposures outside of school and following all protocols.

Teachers take attendance every day for every class. Students who are not scheduled for in-person learning are marked absent if they are not on Zoom. Students scheduled for in-person learning are marked absent if they are not in the classroom. However, if a student scheduled for in-person learning is sick (COVID or non-COVID related) attendance is changed to ‘Excused Not Chargeable’ (ENC) by our office staff. ENC does not calculate as an absence. If the student Zooms from home on a day when they are scheduled for in-person learning, “Zoom” is typed in the notes area.

Congratulations to our fall sports athletes as they complete their seasons and best of luck to our winter athletes as they begin practice this week. For those students interested in extra-curricular activities and clubs, we plan to share our offerings- descriptions, meeting dates, times, etc- on December 20th and begin meeting regularly in January (virtual and in-person when appropriate).
