Monday, September 7th, Greenfield-Central Schools will be closed in observance of Labor Day.
Save the dates! Parent/Teacher Conferences this year will be held on Thursday, October 22nd and Wednesday, October 28th for our onsite students. By default, our conferences will be held virtually (Google Meet). However, should there be technical difficulties, your child's teacher will call you via phone within few minutes of the start of the conference. For our virtual learners, conferences will be held Wednesday, October 21st and Thursday, October 29th. More information will be coming to you in the coming weeks about how to schedule for your child's conference.
GC spirit day
Our first GC Spirit Day will be Friday, September 18th. Please encourage your student to show their Cougar Pride by wearing their GC attire to school that day!
profile of a graduate
Greenfield-Central has identified characteristics we would love to see in all our students by the time they graduate from high school. We call the collection of these characteristics the “Profile of a Graduate.” I’ve attached a digital copy of this document for you. Each month, GIS focuses on one of these characteristics. Throughout the month of September, we are discussing being a Lifelong Learner. Please continue to speak with your student about this month’s topic to make that connection at home.
virtual Book Fair
GIS will be hosting a virtual book fair from September 20th - October 3rd. Please see this link for the details!
Staff Cougar Leaders at Work
Congratulations to the following staff members who have received Staff Cougar Leaders at Work nominations from their peers this week!:
The GC official exclusion date is October 2nd this year, so my suggestion is to start working on getting vaccinations completed early! FYI, per the IDOE and the ISDH, this exclusion includes virtual students as well.

(Reminder) School Dismissal Manager
Please continue to use School Dismissal Manager for ALL transportation changes. Our teachers will send your student to the location that is entered into SDM. Please make sure you are using this system for changes so we may ensure the safety of all our students. As a reminder, students cannot ride a bus that is not their assigned bus. If you need assistance with using this system, please email us at GISoffice@gcsc.k12.in.us.
At Greenfield Intermediate School, our students follow our “Cougar Code.” You can help by reinforcing these at home with your student! The daily expectations at GIS are simple:
- Be Respectful
- Be Responsible
- Be Ready to Learn
