"It was heartbreaking at times to see what some of the folks are going through, but also uplifting to see the outpouring of generosity from perfect strangers. It also reminded me that the things I typically whine about are ‘first-world problems’ and that there is immeasurable suffering all around that makes me realize how fortunate I really am." ~ John Coglan

Fort Wayne hosted their third annual Ride for Rubicon fundraiser to raise awareness for Team Rubicon in their community.

Alsip and Burr Ridge included Team Rubicon in their 125th celebration continuing to fundraise with a dunk tank and apparel sales.

Special Recognition

Each year we issue a few special patches for Wake the World engagement. This year we're proud to recognize their commitment to waking the world by engaging with Team Rubicon.

Our "All In, All Heart" patch recognizes service that goes above and beyond in our call to Wake the World. This year Erica Magda from Burr Ridge is being recognized for her all-in approach to strengthening our relationship with Team Rubicon. She stepped up as an "honorary" TR coordinator and organized a number of events including Hurricane Harvey support and the Hines VA visit. Erica also included them in our 125th celebration and was the driver behind our biggest fundraiser of the year, the walk-a-thon. Thank you Erica!

Our second "All In, All Heart" recipient goes by the name of Big Matt. Matthew Martin, from our Springfield plant, has demonstrated his passion for helping the TR community by becoming a Regional Chainsaw Instructor and a City Coordinator. He had to put in a ton of hours to earn his way to the front of the room to train a bunch of rookies with powerful (and dangerous) machines. Great job Matt!

Our "Pump Your Heart Into It" patch is one of the hardest patches to earn because you must engage with Team Rubicon in every type of event: deployment, service, social, training, and fitness. Consider it a lifetime achievement patch as you earn it over the duration of all Team Rubicon events. This year we're proud to recognize Joan Singer and John Coghlan for earning this special achievement! Both Joan and John are City Coordinators for Springfield, MO and have organized, led, and participated in several area events. Congratulations!
