The 2018 Women in Tech Index has ranked Portugal one of the best countries for women pursuing a career in technology. Specifically, the index showed that the difference in the gender pay gap between the overall economy and tech industry was the smallest across 41 countries.

AERONAUTIC, SPACE AND DEFENCE INDUSTRIES MEETING IN PORTUGAL

Portugal IN: Anna Bergström took part in the interesting panel debate "Global Industry Outlook: Trends and Uncertainties" within the AED Days, an international conference that unites professionals and stakeholders in the aeronautic, space and defence industries. The discussion evolved around geopolitical challenges and opportunities and the creation of sustainable investments in this economic sector in Portugal.

SHOWCASING OF INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY IN ALENTEJO

Portugal IN was pleased to participate in Alentejo Global Invest's meeting in Evora and Alqueva, on the 26th of October were the fantastic work in this region's economic tissue was presented by Adral Global Invest. It was truly inspiring to hear the testimonials from foreign companies based in this region and showcases of innovative and sustainable scientific and technological solutions.

ASSET MANAGEMENT: COMPETITIVENESS OF THE PORTUGUESE MARKET

Bernardo Trindade, CEO of Portugal IN, was keynote speaker at the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM) Conference, included in the World Investment Week. The conference on the FinTech theme and market development is one of the initiatives of this World Investor Week and tried to characterize the FinTech phenomenon in the financial system at national and global level, as well as its consequences, trends and how investors are affected.

BREXIT: ECONOMIC RELATIONS BETWEEN PORTUGAL, SPAIN AND THE UK

CEO of Portugal IN, Bernardo Trindade, was speaker in the seminar co-organized by Portuguese and Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Lisbon School of Economics and Management, ISEG. Brexit is a complex process but at the same time an opportunity for Portugal to be positioned as a destination for FDI in Europe!

MOVING TO LISBON

The Moving to Portugal Seminar in Pestana Chelsea Bridge took place on the 31st October in London. The seminar’s made possible for Portuguese Real Estate companies and the UK consumer market to meet and understand what Portugal can offer to whom is searching investment in Portugal or a second home. Information about tax regime, legal processes and where to buy a home were given to the participants by selected speakers in 3 seminars throughout the day.
