What is the Digital Media Technology summer program
(Powered by Duke Energy)?
This program provides an opportunity for female and minority
students to explore careers in technology while simultaneously
earning six college credits through the dual enrollment program.
Eligible students will enroll in two college courses (DIG 2000
Introduction to Digital Media and SLS 1501 College and Career
Success) in summer 2018. Tuition and supplies for the students will
be covered. This program will be offered at Ocala and Citrus
Which certificate or degree programs does this lead to?
Students in this program may go on to complete any program they
choose at CF, however, students in this field typically pursue careers
in web development, animation, film or TV production, video game
development, or automation and simulation.
The two specific courses earned in this program are in the Digital
Media pathway, which means students would typically pursue an A.S.
in Digital Media Technology, Web Design Specialization, certificates
in Web Design or Graphic Design, or an A.A. with a transfer pathway
in Digital Media (usually followed by a bachelor’s degree at the
university level in a variety of fields).
Who is eligible for this program?
Female and minority students who are eligible for the dual enrollment
program and who will be juniors or seniors in the 2018-2019 school

What will I learn in these classes?
DIG 2000 Introduction to Digital Media is an introductory course that
exposes students to digital illustration, image manipulation, video
editing, page layout and web design, all skills that can be extended in
higher level courses at CF. LS 1501 College and Career Success is a
course that readies new college students for life on a college
campus. The course is designed to build and reinforce skills
necessary for college and career success. Topics include learning
styles, time management techniques, learning skills (reading,
note-taking, critical thinking and writing), people skills (understanding
diversity and relationships), and career planning.
