I also hope that we can continue to work together to meet the technology needs in your classrooms. If you ever have an idea you want to try or a tool you want me to teach your students, please please let me know! I'm here and happy to help!

Pre-K and Kindergarten:

This week, Pre-K and Kindergarten are focusing on adjusting the volume on their iPads to "Juuuuusssttt right!" levels. After watching Goldilocks and the Three Bears, students discussed the idea of not too much and not too little, but just the right amount. All students practiced turning the volume level to "just right." Once we start headphone use, this is particularly important because the sound will be so close to their ears. Pre-K used the Intro to Letters app to practice tracing letters while Kindergarten followed along with the Old MacDonald Had a Farm song on the Old Mac HD app.

First Grade

First graders learned a few key words this week: Username and Password! These words were identified on the Wonders ConnectED app, and students practiced logging into and out of their class accounts. Once in, they can access the stories and assignments their classroom teachers assign to them; they will be using it in a "Listen to Reading" center soon!

Other grade levels, would you like log in cards for your class? Let me know, and I'll make you a personalized set!
Second Grade

Second grade students are swiftly learning SeeSaw! (Who doesn't love an alliteration??) Pretty soon, students will be using SeeSaw in their classrooms to show what they know in this digital portfolio app, so we practiced one new feature in the lab this week. Students used the "Drawing" option with the addition of "Record." They recorded their screens and voices while teaching doubles addition and then they explained the solar eclipse. Check out a few samples below!

Third Grade

Third graders are the first grade to get their own Lee-Scott emails! There is a lot of set up involved, as it requires a great deal of responsibility! This week, students created a Password Page document in Notes with their log-ins for Gmail and Edmodo; they also screen-shotted it for safe keeping in Photos! Students also noticed that Edmodo got an update that is quite different than before, so we reviewed its new features as well.

Fourth Grade

This week, students learned how to use Google Classroom, an app they will use to communicate with their teachers, to submit assignments, and to work with their classmates. They joined each of their teachers' classrooms, and completed sample assignments and posts to become familiar with their new tool.

Fifth Grade

The students mastered emailing from the Camera Roll last year, so this year, students got "Fancy Nancy" with the Markup feature. Students took selfies and then used the built-in tool to illustrate themselves in their future careers. This feature could be used in the classroom to take pictures of maps and label them, take pictures of reading passages and mark things such as "circle all similes" or take pictures of a math problem and solve it through the Markup instead of paper. After they marked up their photo in the Camera Roll, students emailed their creations using the share button.

Sixth Grade

Sixth graders are working on a project all about inventions! In class this week, students have researched an invention of their choice using keywords and phrases. Each student found interesting information such as the year it was invented, why it was invented, and what was used before it was around! Students chose either Google Docs or Pages to record their research, and next week, they will be creating an Adobe Spark Video using what they found.
