Art Work by FALA students/alumni: Natalia Donohue, Alandra Duyongwa, Minz Weibezal, Indira Neilson, Dylan Jackson, & Sophie Collier
The symposium seeks to educate on the five main principles of social justice: access to resources, equity, participation, diversity and human rights. We also wish to integrate Bryan Stevenson's: Four Steps to Change the World:
- We have to get approximate to the problems we care about.
- We have to change the narrative.
- We have to remain hopeful.
- Sometimes we have to do uncomfortable things.
We seek to explore with our community on what is going on in society with Schooling/Learning, BIPOC, Mental Health/Ableism, Climate/Environmental Justice, and LGBTQ+. These issues were suggested by FALA Students.
The Social Justice Symposium is co-curated by Janeece Henes & Mike Levin. collaborators: YPAR Class, Allison Gruber, Kim Khatibi, Janine Birchard, Betsy Hamill, Melissa Burnstein, and Lauren Cain, Nina Porter, and Indigenous Youth Club
