Baseball: Club Baseball had another conference doubleheader at Fall Church High School against American University. With a combined total of 36 runs in both games, the Patriots dominated on offense and defense with astonishing scores of 17-3 and 19-0. David Mathis went 2-4 with 5 RBI and hit his first home run of the season in Game 1. Patrick Charney went 1 for 2 with 4 RBI in Game 2.

Equestrian: The Equestrian Club traveled to Oatland Stables to compete in the Zone 4 Region 1 IHSA Show- Regionals. Their opponents included American University, George Washington University, Georgetown University, and Goucher College. Overall, Mason finished 4th out of 12th place for the year. Advanced Walk Trot Canter was the largest class with 17 riders, requiring riders to place in the top 4 in their heat to move on. All three Mason riders advanced and placed in the final heat. Alina Parikh and Elizabeth Dorrian, along with the co-captains of GWU, won the IHSA Sportsmanship of the Year Award which was given to them for how they have worked together to host two amazing shows, and the true sportsmanship they have shown amongst all teams. They are very proud of their success and how the team has grown over the past few years. The individual results for the competition are as follows:

Field Hockey: The Field Hockey team successfully hosted their first tournament on campus with over 200 players and fans in attendance. UNC was the tournament winner going outscored throughout the day. Mason took down VCU in a close game, winning 2-1. Their second game was modified as the opposing team did not have enough players and the score was not counted towards the NFHL.

Men’s Lacrosse: The Men’s Lacrosse team traveled to Washington College to compete in a single game matchup. The team had a very competitive match, but in the end came up on top defeating their opponent 10-7. Individual stats for the competition are as follows:

Miles Herbst- 3 goals and 2 assists

Chris Klabonski- 2 goals and 2 assists

Jack Petrakes- 1 goal and 1 assist

Ethan Crawley- 1 goal

Steven Robbins- 1 goal

Brendan DelPrete- 2 goals

Ryan Keenan- 2 assists

Brandon Landers- 2 assists

Justin Lee (GK)-17 saves.

The Patriots are now 2-0 on the season and in conference play.

Men’s Rugby: The Men’s Rugby team traveled to William & Mary for a three game series. W&M’s strong team defeated Mason in each game with scores of 20-17, 20-15, and 10-3. Jami Kidder-Walls, Pearse Swail, and Brian Paap all put scores on the board. Abhi Kumar made his team debut with a few try saving tackles. James Edwards was an unstoppable force and Antonio Stockel made a major impact in the game. William & Mary remarked that they had completely underestimated GMU’s team.

Softball: The Softball team hosted NOVA Community College in a scrimmage. Mason put on a strong showing at the plate and on the mound as they crushed their opponent 21-0.

Women’s Lacrosse: The Women’s Lacrosse team hosted Old Dominion University, George Washington University, and Georgetown University in a three team tournament. Though they fell to ODU and Georgetown 7-8 and 8-9, respectively, Mason took down George Washington 7-5. Goalie Rhyanna O’Neal was crucial in the success the team had in their games.

Women’s Soccer: The Women’s Soccer team competed in a single game at the University of Mary Washington. Goals scored by Katy Wildeus (2), Grace Fehan (1), and Maggie Blondin (1) boosted the Patriots to a 4-0 win over their opponent.

Tennis: The Tennis team traveled to Rock Creek Park Tennis Center to compete in a tournament hosted by Georgetown University. Their opponents included Georgetown B, West Virginia University, UVA, and Virginia Tech. Despite losing in each matchup, all of the players played great matches and showed fantastic support for their teammates.

Men’s Volleyball: The Men’s Volleyball team traveled to JMU to compete in the Southern Divisional Championship tournament. It was a day of tough competition as Mason fell in incredibly closes matches against the top teams in their division. Their results included Virginia Tech B (19-25, 25-17, 13-15), William & Mary (25-16, 22-25, 13-15), and CNU (18-25, 25-20, 15-17). GMU took home a strong with against ECU 25-13, 25-16.
