Our third concert features the immediately recognizable Dvorak Symphony no 9 "from the New World" composed in 1893- the first year of the NSO. 1893 is also the birth year for Arthur Benjamin, composer of the Romantic Fantasy for Violin and Viola

We start the evening with the exuberant Overture based on themes from the opera, Ruslan and Lyudmila
ARTHUR BENJAMIN - ROMANTIC FANTASY FOR VIOLIN AND VIOLA
Stephen Bryant and Benjamin Roskams
We are joined by Stephen Bryant and Benjamin Roskams for an imaginative double concerto by Arthur Benjamin, born in our founding year.
ANTONIN DVORAK - SYMPHONY NO. 9 "FROM THE NEW WORLD"
We round off the evening with a performance of Dvorak's most popular symphony, "From the New World", composed in 1893
