Integration with Reality By: Joey, JT, Connor and anna

Our video is centered around the admission of Harvey Gantt and how learning form the past will affect the future of Clemson. We highlight the riots of Ole Miss to show how it impacted the peaceful integration at Clemson. due to the violent riots at Ole Miss, Clemson was able to adequately prepare for the incoming admission of Harvey Gantt and this resulted in a peaceful Integration. Our video then transitions to the students currently at Clemson. We assumed that many would not know much about Clemson's history with race and integration, and after conducting interviews and surveys, we found our assumptions to be true. We hope this video sparks conversation and is a starting point for change.

My name is Anna Birchfield and I am a freshman from Charlotte, North Carolina. I wrote my research paper on the integration of Harvey Gantt into Clemson and how religion affected and influenced his admission. My role in this project was to film and edit the videos so that they all went together smoothly.

Hi, my name is J.T. Stroupe and I am from Boiling Springs, North Carolina. I am a freshman studying Business Marketing here at Clemson. I'm from the country so I look really forward to providing my rural perspective in this project.

My name is Joey Hering, I’m a freshman finance major from Cumming, Georgia. I wrote my research argument on why Clemson does not properly educate students on the history of their integration and how the phrase “Integration with Dignity” is not fully encompassing of what happened in 1963. For this project, I conducted interviews with random Clemson students to get feedback on how much they knew about the school’s history. I was also responsible for editing some of the footage for the second half of the video.
My name is Connor Patterson and I am a freshman finance major form Charlotte, North Carolina. I wrote my research paper on the integration of Harvey Gantt and how the riots at Ole Miss influenced the outcome of Clemsons Integration. My role was the Project Manager and I wrote the script for most of the video.
