Junior Prep Baseball Blanks Collegiate, 7-0, on the Road Thursday

Thursday, April 27, 2017 -- Game Recap

RICHMOND, VA -- The Fork Union Junior Prep baseball team blanked Collegiate, 7-0, Thursday afternoon on the road. The win improved the Blue Devils to 6-2 overall.

"Our pitching was superb with Jackson Manglicmot throwing the final five innings after Carter Crawford got the start. We made no errors and we hit really well. I was really proud of our team's effort," said head coach Steve Friski.

One of the highlights of the game was when Marcus Billingslea capped off the day with a single to right field. Another was a gracious contribution off the field.

"The MVP and the reason why we won this game was Nathan Krammes. Luke Toma [a starting infielder] realized he forgot his shoes and Krammes stepped up and lended his own pair so Toma could play. Krammes won this game for us," said Friski.

The squad returns to action Tuesday, May 2 when they travel to St. Christopher's for a 4:30 p.m. first pitch.
