Entrepreneurial Mindset A VIRTUAL Workshop for the Aspiring Entrepreneur

Purpose

Saint Augustine's University School of Business, Management and Technology is pleased to host "Entrepreneurial Mindset", an interactive workshop, presented by Wells Fargo. The purpose of the workshop is to provide in-depth knowledge and training on the topic of entrepreneurial mindset. The day-long workshop will include all workshop materials and lunch.   • Must be located in the Southeast Raleigh Community (living or work)
  • An aspiring entrepreneur (you do not have to currently own a small business)

Meet Your Facilitator

Dr. Sheria D. Rowe: Assistant Dean/Assistant Professor, School of Business, Management and Technology, Saint Augustine's University

Dr. Sheria D. Rowe, is a noted educator, author, and entrepreneur. Dr. Rowe is an Assistant Professor of Business Administration and Chair of the Computer Information System program at her alma mater Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh North Carolina. Her passion for education and entrepreneurial spirit have been a perfect blend in her career. Sheria was born in Fayetteville, NC and started her higher educational and career journey at the age of seventeen. As a senior in high school, the guidance counselor advised her “college may not be a good fit”, but at the age of twenty-one, she received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Saint Augustine’s University. Immediately following, she began working in corporate America as an accountant while pursuing her Master’s degree in Information Science. Upon completion of her Master’s, Dr. Rowe started focusing more on her career and other business ventures. In 2014, she earned her Doctorate degree in Business Administration, with a focus on Management and Women in Business. Rowe was one of the youngest amongst her class to successfully complete the rigorous program. Throughout her journey, there were many challenges and barriers that were encountered; such as the glass ceiling by being African American and a woman.

In addition to being a college professor, Sheria is the mastermind behind two ventures; DRowe Enterprise, a public relations firm and Business Mogul, LLC a business and culture focused media company. Dr. Rowe currently serves as the Founder and President for both companies. She blends her actual entrepreneur experiences into vivid lectures for her entrepreneur-based courses at Saint Augustine’s University.

Sheria Rowe also enjoys writing and is a popular author. "White Collar, Black Pumps" was her first novel, which was the start to a series of books. The fictional novel follows two women who have different career paths but encounter similar challenges in their careers and relationships, in addition to successfully balancing their lives. Her 2nd novel, "White Collar, Black Pumps Volume II" released on March 14th, 2018.

While staying busy as an entrepreneur, educator, and author, Dr. Rowe always make time for her community and her continued initiatives for women in business. She’s active with several organizations and boards as well as a volunteer for the Alzheimer's Association, Breast Cancer Foundation, and Go Red for Women.
