Undefeated Hamilton-Wenham boys basketball 25-0 MIAA Div.4 state champions

They said it could never be done. But the 2014-15 Hamilton-Wenham boys basketball team had an incredible knack for making the impossible possible. Guided by the sheer power and leadership of its senior class and bolstered by the offensive firepower of a pair of dynamic sophomores, the Generals rolled to an undefeated 25-0 season, culminating in its first-ever Division 4 State Championship. The victory was extra special for Hamilton-Wenham Coach Doug Hoak. A former General hoop star himself, Hoak previously led the 1971 team to semifinals success in the Tech Tourney at the Boston Garden. It was a return to form for the club, after assistant coach Rich Butterworth helped H- W to its first semifinal Garden party in 1965. But neither team was able to advance, making the Generals 59-50 victory over Sutton, March 13 at WPI, that much sweeter. Mission accomplished.
