I hate you, I love you

Gnash and Olivia O'brein

Feeling used

But I'm

Still missing you

And I can't

See the end of this

Just wanna feel your kiss

Against my lips

And now all this time

Is passing by

But I still can't seem to tell you why

It hurts me every time I see you

Realize how much I need you

I hate you I love you

I hate that I love you

Don't want to, but I can't put

Nobody else above you

I hate you I love you

I hate that I want you

You want her, you need her

And I'll never be her

I miss you when I can't sleep

Or right after coffee

Or right when I can't eat

I miss you in my front seat

Still got sand in my sweaters

From nights we don't remember

Do you miss me like I miss you?

Fucked around and got attached to you

Friends can break your heart too, and

I'm always tired but never of you

If I pulled a you on you, you wouldn't like that shit

I put this real out, but you wouldn't bite that shit

I type a text but then I nevermind that shit

I got these feelings but you never mind that shit

Oh oh, keep it on the low

You're still in love with me but your friends don't know

If u wanted me you would just say so

And if I were you, I would never let me go

I don't mean no harm

I just miss you on my arm

Wedding bells were just alarms

Caution tape around my heart

You ever wonder what we could have been?

You said you wouldn't and you did

Lie to me, lie with me, get your fix

Now all my drinks and all my feelings are all mixed

Always missing people that I shouldn't be missing

Sometimes you gotta burn some bridges just to create some distance

I know that I control my thoughts and I should stop reminiscing

But I learned from my dad that it's good to have feelings

When love and trust are gone

I guess this is moving on

Everyone I do right does me wrong

So every lonely night

I sing this song

I hate you I love you

I hate that I love you

Don't want to, but I can't put

Nobody else above you

I hate you I love you

I hate that I want you

You want her, you need her

And I'll never be her

All alone I watch you watch her

Like she's the only girl you've ever seen

You don't care you never did

You don't give a damn about me

Yeah all alone I watch you watch her

She's the only thing you've ever seen

How is it you'll never notice

That you are slowly killing me

I hate you I love you

I hate that I love you

Don't want to, but I can't put

Nobody else above you

I hate you I love you

I hate that I want you

You want her, you need her

And I'll never be her

There are 3 example of imagery (the bold lines), The first one is imagery because when it says it hurts me every time i see you, it doesn't mean that physically hurts her it just hurts her on the inside because she loves him but he doesn't love her back.

The second example is imagery because it makes you feel like your heart broken too, but yet you still love and want to be with the person who made you broken in the first place.

The third example is imagery because it makes you feel jealous and hurt because he looks at another girl the way you want him to look at you so she makes you feel just like she does so you can feel her pain.

Talking to the moon

Bruno Mars

I know you're somewhere out there

Somewhere far away

I want you back

I want you back

My neighbors think I'm crazy

But they don't understand

You're all I have, you're all I have

At night when the stars light up my room I sit by myself...

Talking to the moon

Trying to get to you

In hopes you're on the other side talking to me too

Or am I a fool, who sits alone, talking to the moon?***

I'm feeling like I'm famous

the talk of the town

They say I've gone mad

Yeah, I've gone mad

But they don't know what I know

Cause when the sun goes down someone's talking back

Yeah, they're talking back, oh

At night when the stars light up my room I sit by myself...

Talking to the moon

Trying to get to you

In hopes you're on the other side talking to me too

Or am I a fool, who sits alone, talking to the moon?

(Ah, ah, ah)

Do you ever hear me calling?

(Ah) oh oh oh

(Ah) oh oh oh '

Cause every night

I'm talking to the moon

Still trying to get to you

In hopes you're on the other side talking to me too

Or am I a fool, who sits alone, talking to the moon?

I know you're somewhere out there

Somewhere far away

The first bold line is an example of imagery because it is trying to describe that the people of his town won't stop talking about him and calling him crazy because he is so depressed that he is trying to talk to someone who isn't there.

The second bold line is an example of personification because he is giving the moon person like actions, like talking even though it is an inanimate object and it cant speak.

The whole song is an example of a metaphor for missing you love and trying to reach out to them, which gives them comfort. It uses the phrase Talking to the moon which is basically means talking to yourself but wishing and imagining someone is there.

This Town

Niall Horan

Waking up to kiss you and nobody's there

The smell of your perfume still stuck in the air

It's hard

Yesterday I thought I saw your shadow running 'round

It's funny how things never change in this old town

So far

From the stars

And I want to tell you everything

The words I never got to say the first time around

And I remember everything

From when we were the children playing in this fairground

Wish I was there with you now

'Cause if the whole world was watching

I'd still dance with you

Drive highways and byways to be there with you

Over and over the only truth

Everything comes back to you

Mmmmm

I saw that you moved on with someone new

In the pub that we met he's got his arms around you

It's so hard

So hard

And I want to tell you everything

The words I never got to say the first time around

And I remember everything

From when we were the children playing in this fairground

Wish I was there with you now

'Cause if the whole world was watching I'd still dance with you

Drive highways and byways to be there with you

Over and over the only truth

Everything comes back to you

You still make me nervous when you walk in the room

Them butterflies—they come alive when I'm next to you

Over and over the only truth

Everything comes back to you

And I know that it's wrong

That I can't move on

But there's something 'bout you

'Cause if the whole world was watching I'd still dance with you

Drive highways and byways to be there with you

Over and over they only truth

Everything comes back to you

You still make me nervous when you walk in the room

Them butterflies—they come alive when I'm next to you

Over and over the only truth everything comes back to you

Mmmm

Everything comes back to you

Mmmm

The first bold line is an example of personification because a shadow can't run around by itself without the person the shadow belongs to.

The second line is both a hyperbole and alliteration because the whole world can't watch you and it is alliteration because all of the words start with a w.

The third and final example is a hyperbole butterflies can't come alive after being dead, and they can't come alive just because someone is standing next to you.

Music

A Poem By Kylie Estes

Music is my life preserver

It picks me up when i'm down

Its there for me when no one else is

Music is a shoulder for me to cry on

It is the only thing that keeps me going
