Our Winter Escape

Our adventure started On Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas. We were with our friends, Eric, Cindy, Alan and Mary. The ship was huge and had everything your could possibly want, plus.

For Kids
For Adults
Enough to make your head spin!

The weather was gorgeous, and of course the food was great!

Rooms overlooked the center promenade decks
Joe braved the climbing wall!
But not the water slide.

1st Port of call, Haiti

We rode the train!
Watched the dancers!
And the people!
I enjoyed the sandy beach,
and waited for my photo-op!
Joe survived the mother of all ziplines!
then, our white legs carried us back to the ship!
We had 2 formal nights!
So we kicked up our heels!
The ship had a wave pool.
A running track.
Even ( for some unexplained reason) an Aston Martin.

2nd Port of Call, Jamaica!

We hired a van and driver to tour the island!
Montego Bay - lunch on the beach.
The water was beautiful, and there were little fishing boats everywhere.
The fish was fresh!
Lots of people watching from the back seat.
This polka dot house was pretty cool!

3rd Port of call was Cozumel. We took a ferry and a bus to Chichen Itza to see the Mayan Ruins. This was our favourite port, we had an excellent guide and the ruins were amazing.

There were lots of snakes!
And skulls!
and pillars!
Great carvings!
And no shortage of places to lose your head!
Human sacrifices were common here.
Another curious visitor.

After the cruise we spent a couple of days in Miami. We took a boat tour of the harbour to look at the mansions on Star Island.

This home once belonged to Al Capone!
We saw Air Force One
Roosters wandering around Key West.
and of course, Hemingway's house.

After we returned from the cruise we enjoyed a week of sunshine in Laughlin NV. There are some great golf courses there.

Los Lagos Golf Club is has acres of beautiful Gazania flowers.
They cover the entire course!
We even saw a house that was a tribute to Elvis!
Now that's taking fan fare to the extreme!

It's a short drive to Grapevine Canyon to enjoy the pictographs!

Avi Resort had a bull riding event one night!

Lots of cowboys!
Big Bulls!
Traditional Dancers!
And of course, bull riding!

We took a windy drive along the historic Route 66 to Oatman.

The wild burros aren't very wild!

Home again

The deer are still here.
And so is that wonderful view!
