Del NortE HOMECOMING PARADE AN ANNUAL TRADITION

Del Norte's student body took to the streets to celebrate homecoming with their annual parade. This year’s theme is “Around the World,” and each class built a float depicting a different city. Poway Unified and San Diego County Teacher of the Year Mark Lantsberger kicked off the parade in a red convertible. You can watch video of the entire parade on PUSD's Facebook page here.

New this year, the school is doing away with its homecoming court and replacing it with a student-selected group of honorees based on good character and hard work. The “Faces of the Flock” honorees also rode in convertibles and will be honored at halftime during the football game. Kickoff is 7pm Friday, October 6th at Nighthawk Stadium vs. Vista.

Those being honored as "Faces of the Flock" are seniors Lexi Fernandez, Nikki Luu, Mark McClure, Bella Munar, Kevin Salceda and Tommy Smyth; juniors Umer Badar and Kayleigh O’Neal; sophomores Jaelyn Daluraya and Ethan Keirn; and freshmen Matthew Bautista and Nya Harrison.

The band and colorguard, cheer and dance teams, various clubs, and fall sports teams also marched in the parade.
