See ya real soon! The sun is setting on my time at Walt Disney World, but I'm proud to announce where I'll be headed next.

Let's rewind.

A little over 2 years ago, I was scared of Disney—scared that they would never accept me because I didn’t grow up watching their stories. Scared that I would be questioned if I had not watched Snow White or Pinocchio. Scared that I didn’t have a favorite ride at a Disney Park. But after some courage, I applied and accepted an opportunity working for Disneyland in California.

Fast forward to now, having worked on both coasts for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, I’ve discovered that no one has passed judgement even though I have not committed the names of all seven dwarfs to memory. Disney is accepting. Everyone just seems happy to be here—to be contributing, leading, working, and laughing along the way.

Checkout this photo from one of my favorite projects which took place at Disney's Animal Kingdom. You can spot me in the top right carefully planting myself behind a large tree with a camera in hand. Fun fact: hippos are the most dangerous animals in Africa.

As you might understand, I learned there is nothing to be afraid of. I’m lucky to think of Disney as a culture and a family more-so than “work.”

With a heavy heart, I’ll transition out of my current post in Florida this upcoming week. My Walt Disney Parks and Resorts teams have afforded me experiences and friendships that I could have only dreamt of. I feel humbled to have met and worked with so many incredible people all along the way.

My leader and I stopping for a photo in Pandora - The World of Avatar during his 5th Anniversary Celebration. To surprise him, I took him out into the parks to make magic for 5 different families to represent 5 years of service at Disney Parks.

I’m proud to announce that on January 23, I’ll begin a new journey at Walt Disney International’s headquarters in Burbank, California.

My new team, Technology and Innovation at Walt Disney International, helps develop and implement strategies to increase Disney brand affinity and awareness in key international markets by introducing new customers and guests to Disney’s unique storytelling legacy and iconic characters through investing and maximizing opportunities in emerging markets. Walt Disney International is an organization with operations in 45 countries throughout the world. I’m proud to be contributing my communication and digital production skills to the domestic communications team.

I’ll be based in the Team Disney Burbank corporate building on the Walt Disney Studio Lot, and I will reside in historic Old Towne Orange.

This whole ride—no matter where the destination—is no longer just my journey; it’s our journey.

I’m thrilled that you, my friends and family, are along for this exciting adventure.

With love and magic,

P.S. — We're just getting started.
