What is it ?

Nucleic Acids are the blueprints or instructions of life, it's what makes you, you and unique. It is also known as the ladder structure known as DNA. The DNA is kept in the body in the shape of a double helix.

What does it do for your body?

It makes you who you are, if you have blue eyes it's because of nucleic acid, and if your tall it's because of nucleic acid.

How is it used ?

It is used by how it stores your genetic information that makes you the person you are by your genetic build up. This is also how traits are passed on from generation to generation.

Where does it come from?

Nucleic acid can be found in the nuclei of living cells, and there are a lot of DNA structures in your body that are very important to you as a person.

Who discovered it?

The person who discovered it a man named Friedrich Miescher who discovered the macromolecule in the year 1869.
