It's that time again, Islanders: the semester is coming to a close and final exams are quickly approaching! But, don't worry - we're here to help! From exam times, to study locations, to where to enjoy some free food, pet some therapy dogs, and more, we've compiled it all here to help you get prepared!
NEED HELP STUDYING?
VISIT CASA: Want someone to proofread that final paper? Need help preparing for the big exam? For no additional charge, you can take advantage of the services provided by our Center for Student Academic Achievement (CASA). See the link below to learn about available tutoring, supplemental instruction, academic mentorships, and the Writing Center.

Mary and Jeff Bell Library
The Mary and Jeff Bell Library will be open 24 hours a day Monday-Thursday, with extended hours Friday, Saturday, and Sunday now through the end of the final exam period.
Be sure to check out the library's computer labs and private study rooms. Each floor contains white boards and smart boards, open study areas for individuals and groups, and knowledgeable library assistants ready to assist you with your questions. Students can use their SandDollar$ ID to reserve one of 15 study rooms at the Circulation Desk.
Ear plugs are also available at public service locations (Ask Us, Circulation, and Media) for those that need a little extra quiet time to study.

GROW Grad Suite
Graduate students can take advantage of the designated quiet area in GROW's large study room at the Mary and Jeff Bell Library, Room 220, from December 8-14. Grad students can also reserve a study room in advance. Free coffee is also available, or you can bring your own K-Cup to brew!
Need a quiet place to study that's in close proximity to Starbucks? Try the open study area located in the Faculty Center.
The University Center is open late and has comfortable couches and study areas on every floor! It's also a great place to grab some food to fuel you through those study sessions, as well as a place where you can purchase blue books, scantrons, and other supplies you may need for your exams.

Take your study session outside and get some fresh air while studying in Dr. Hector P. Garcia Plaza!
PAWS ON THE ISLAND: Take a study break from studying and spend time with a furry friend! The Mary and Jeff Bell Library and Paws Up, Inc. are partnering again to bring therapy dogs to campus on Wednesday, December 6, from noon to 3 p.m. in the University Center, Lonestar Ballroom. The event is co-sponsored by the University Counseling Center, which will be on hand with fun and games to help lower stress levels as Islanders prepare for exams. LATE NIGHT BREAKFAST: It's rough studying for exams on an empty stomach. Come enjoy a free meal (as well as giveaways, photos, and karaoke) on us Wednesday, December 6, from 9:30 p.m. to midnight at the University Center during Late Night Breakfast! BOOKS & BAGELS: The Islander Alumni Association is hosting Books and Bagels to wish all Islanders the best of luck on finals Thursday, Dec. 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first floor of the Mary & Jeff Library. CARTOONS & CEREAL: We're pretty sure that cereal is an acceptable meal at all times of the day! So, grab yourself a free bowl of cereal and relax while watching cartoons on Tuesday, December 12, starting at 11:00 a.m until supplies run out in the UC Tejas Lounge! TREAT YOURSELF: Finals have you skipping that trip to the salon? No need to neglect those nails! Relax while getting your nails polished for free on Wednesday, December 13, from 2:30 p.m to 5:00 p.m in the University Center, Jetty Room! RELAXATION ROOM: Need to relax? The Relaxation Room is here to provide a quiet, peaceful space for students to develop and practice relaxation skills that can enhance their academic productivity and their sense of well-being. The Counseling Center's hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. The center is closed daily from noon-1 p.m.
SLEEP POD: Feeling the effects of that all-nighter? Catch up on some Zzz's in the university's sleep pod, located in the Dugan Wellness Center (between the Grace and Power rooms)! A quick power nap can make you more alert, increase mental performance, and improve your memory - all important things to consider during final exams.
