York Christmas Market 3rd december 2016

Saturday 3rd December 2016

And just 'how' busy was it??

Setting out with Amy & Katie on the first Saturday in December to go to the Christmas market in town maybe wasn't the best idea I'd ever had. But I wanted some 'street photography' to reflect on just how well our wonderful city does its bit for Christmas. Ok, it's not the same as a traditional German Market or even a Scandinavian one, where snow seems to be a permanent feature and adds an extra dimension of childhood magic. But York DOES do a great job and judging by the number of people out and about enjoying themselves (AND spending a lot of money in the process, no doubt!) it appeals to the masses, with coachloads of people bussing it in every weekend before Christmas and even more folk arriving by train.
