Yoga Anatomy Understand how & why

With a depth of experiene in Sport, Health and Exercise Studies, Emily has delivered in schools, universities, yoga workshops and YTTC modules in anatomy & physiology all over the world.

Her intent is to encourage yogis to familiarise and understand some basic anatomy of their own bodies in order to increase mindfulness in yoga class, and to provide a rationale for why we we do what we do when we practice. This brings real acceptance of self.

Yoga Anatomy Workshop, Soul Circus Festival, 2016

As a teacher, Emily practices learner centred, inclusive teaching methods, therefore, aims to empower teacher trainees to fully appreciate the range of bodies in any one yoga class. Trainees leave Emily's sessions not only informed, but well practiced at differentiating to meet client needs.

YTTC, Rishikesh, 2014

Learning in workshops occurs though hands on palpating, movement, images and tech. Duration is from 2-6 hours and content can be general or specifi, such a 'hips dont lie' or 'shoulder stabilisers' workshops, or whole day immersions including subtle body connections and embodied anatomy,

Reviews:

Tim (2014, Kathmandu) "Emily is a very giving teacher. As well as having a gift for creating beautiful dynamic flow that I can lose oneself in, she has also unlocked the “woo woo” side of yoga in a way that I find not only completely accessible, but touching and meaningful. Emily also brings an eclectic range of other things to the mat from her varied sports science and dance background, which have really enhanced my practice."

Jennifer (2015, India) "Emily, she is so beautiful inside and out. Her classes can be intense, yet refreshing you leave her classes feeling very invigorated and full of life, like you can take on the world! She is very sweet and truly cares about each and every one of her students, offering adjustments and variations if needed. Her passion and knowledge about yoga and sports background shows in her classes. You feel comfortable yet challenged, you are always in good hands with Emily. I can’t wait to practice with you again. All the best with everything Em. Xoxo"
